Actress Millie Bobby Brown and her husband, Jake Bongiovi, welcomed a baby girl through adoption in 2025, and the couple have since settled on a simple but grounding approach to raising their child.

'One day at a time'

Speaking with UNICEF, Brown outlined the philosophy she and Bongiovi have adopted as new parents. "My husband and I always say, 'Today was today and tomorrow is going to be tomorrow, and let's just sleep.' You just take it day by day," she said.

The Stranger Things star also reflected on the unpredictable and often overwhelming nature of early motherhood, describing it as something of an emotional rollercoaster.

Turning to mum in moments of doubt

Like many new parents, Brown has found herself questioning whether her child's behaviour is typical. "They are doing something and you're like, 'Is that normal? Do they do that?'" she admitted.

In those moments of uncertainty, Brown turns straight to her mother for guidance. "And you know, I'll call my [mom]," she said, describing her as an indispensable source of reassurance. "She's just like my 911. '[Mom], did I do this?" Brown recalled asking her. "Did my siblings do this?'"

Her mother's response has consistently put her at ease. "And she is like, 'Oh, that's completely normal. They do that all the time.'"

Brown expressed deep gratitude for that unwavering support. "[It's] so great. I'm honored to have support," she said.

A mother-in-law who offers the same comfort

Beyond her own mother, Brown has also found a reliable source of comfort in her mother-in-law. "And if I can't call her, I call my mother-in-law. She is just like the same way. It's so nice to hear reassurance," she said.

Brown and Bongiovi quietly married in 2024, and the couple have since embraced family life together following the adoption of their daughter.
