Savannah Guthrie shares emotional plea as search for missing mother continues
The TV host posted a heartfelt plea, saying, 'bring her home' amid an ongoing investigation
Savannah Guthrie has shared a deeply emotional message amid the ongoing search for her mother, Nancy Guthrie, whose disappearance continues to grip investigators and family members nearly four months after she went missing from her home in Tucson, Arizona.
On Sunday, June 7, the Today co-anchor, 54, posted a brief but heartfelt message on her Instagram Stories alongside a religious artwork depicting Christ’s ascension. The text read, “Oh my, my soul it cries out, soul, it cries out,” followed by a simple plea: “Bring her home.”
The update comes as the search for Nancy Guthrie, 84, remains active following her disappearance on Feb. 1. Authorities believe she was abducted from her Tucson residence in the early morning hours by a masked individual.
Investigators have said alleged ransom notes sent to local media outlets have strengthened their belief that she was taken against her will. Despite ongoing efforts, no suspects have been publicly identified in the case.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos provided an update in May, stating that law enforcement agencies — including the FBI — continue to work through physical evidence collected from the scene.
“There’s way too much work to be done, that is ongoing, with some of the physical evidence we have,” Nanos said, noting that forensic testing, including DNA analysis, is still underway.
Savannah Guthrie has frequently used social media to express her anguish and maintain public attention on the case. In March, she shared the same biblical artwork with the message, “I believe, I believe,” signaling continued hope for her mother’s safe return.
The Guthrie family has also issued public statements thanking the Tucson community for its support during the ongoing investigation. In a statement shared through local media, Savannah and her siblings said they remain hopeful that residents may hold key information that could help resolve the case.
“Bring Her Home: The Disappearance of Nancy Guthrie,” a special broadcast in Tucson, featured the family expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support from neighbors and the broader Arizona community.
Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance has prompted widespread attention, with authorities continuing to pursue leads and test evidence as the search enters a critical phase.
