Jason Segel is sharing a playful glimpse into his future family life, revealing he believes he’ll one day have a “moody, creative, puppet-y kid” with fiancée Kayla Radomski.

The 46-year-old actor opened up about his relationship and plans for children while attending Apple TV+’s Shrinking Emmy FYC event in Los Angeles on Saturday, June 6.

When asked about starting a family, Segel responded with his trademark humor and imagination.

“Yeah. I’m going to have a real weird kid. It’ll be great,” he said. “I’ll have a moody, creative, puppet-y kid.”

Jason Segel also spoke warmly about his upcoming wedding, saying preparations are “going great” and praising his fiancée.

“I’m with the best person in the world,” he added.

Segel got engaged to Kayla Radomski in June 2025, with Radomski announcing the news on social media alongside photos from the romantic proposal and writing, “FOREVER YES!” She later described the moment as the “best day of my life.”

The How I Met Your Mother star has previously shared details of the elaborate proposal during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, revealing he carefully planned the surprise to create an unforgettable emotional moment.

Segel proposed at Huntington Gardens in California — a location meaningful to the couple as the site of one of their early dates.

He initially told Radomski they were attending a formal “donor dinner” before leading her to a rose-petal-covered aisle near a Greek statue.

As the moment unfolded, a string quartet played “Tale as Old as Time” from Beauty and the Beast, one of Radomski’s favorite films, adding to the emotional reveal.

“She lost it,” Segel said of her reaction.

The actor also designed the engagement ring himself, adding a personal touch to the proposal.
