'Back to the Future' star Crispin Glover pushes back against ex-girlfriend’s lawsuit

Actor Crispin Glover has strongly denied allegations made by a former girlfriend in an ongoing lawsuit, accusing her of attempting to pressure him into a financial settlement through what he describes as false claims.

The Back to the Future star, 62, responded to the allegations in a declaration filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court, where he argued that the lawsuit was intended to intimidate him and damage his reputation.

“I believe she did so to intimidate me into paying her to settle and therefore avoid negative media attention which could damage my future ability to earn money in the entertainment industry,” Glover stated in court documents cited by the Daily Mail.

The legal dispute stems from a lawsuit filed by a woman identified only as Jane Doe, who alleges that Glover subjected her to controlling behavior after she moved from the United Kingdom to Los Angeles in 2024.

In her complaint, Doe claims the actor promised her housing, employment opportunities, and support in the entertainment industry before she relocated.

She further alleges that she became financially dependent on him and was later locked out of his home without warning.

Doe also accuses Glover of physically assaulting her during a dispute over retrieving her belongings and pets, alleging that he grabbed her by the neck and left a visible injury.

Glover has denied all allegations, including claims of battery, fraud, wrongful eviction, malicious prosecution, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

According to his court filing, the pair initially connected through social media in 2015 and later entered what he described as a brief romantic relationship in 2023.

He disputes Doe’s characterization of their arrangement, maintaining that she came to the United States because they were dating and not as part of any professional agreement.

The actor also rejected claims that he promised to employ her, insisting no such arrangement existed.

Addressing another allegation in the lawsuit, Glover denied possessing Nazi memorabilia that he allegedly showed Doe during a meeting in Germany.

He said the items referenced were film props from his 2005 movie What Is It? and described the accusations as “false and misleading.”

Glover further alleged that tensions escalated after Doe asked him to tell others they had been married in an Islamic ceremony, a request he said he declined.

He claims that following the refusal, she began behaving erratically and later left his home to stay with friends.

The actor also offered his own account of an incident involving Doe and an unidentified man, alleging that the pair arrived at his residence to collect belongings but that the encounter became confrontational.

According to Glover, the man verbally threatened him while Doe allegedly attacked him and scratched his face, causing injuries.

In February, Glover’s attorney dismissed the lawsuit as baseless and vowed to contest the claims in court.

“Mr. Glover denies these allegations in the strongest possible terms,” his lawyer said in a statement.

“He intends to vigorously defend himself and is confident the judicial process will demonstrate that the claims lack merit.”

The case is scheduled to return to court on July 20, where both sides are expected to continue presenting their arguments.
