Amy Adams opens up about daughter Aviana's future career plans
The actress shares how growing up in a creative household has influenced her daughter Aviana's interests
Amy Adams has revealed that her teenage daughter, Aviana, may one day follow her into the entertainment industry, although she says nothing has been decided yet.
The six-time Oscar nominee opened up about her 16-year-old daughter during the finale event for her Apple TV+ series Cape Fear in New York City, sharing that Aviana has shown an interest in working behind the scenes.
“I think we'll see what she's up for,” Adams told People. “I know she's interested in production as a whole, so we'll see what avenue she decides to focus on.”
Adams, 51, shares Aviana with her husband, filmmaker and artist Darren Le Gallo. The couple met in an acting class in 2001 before Adams landed her breakthrough role in Junebug.
Growing up in a creative household, Aviana has already had some exposure to filmmaking.
Le Gallo wrote and directed the 2022 drama Sam & Kate, inspired in part by conversations he shared with his daughter about life and death.
Aviana also made a brief cameo in the film as a young dancer.
Adams has previously explained that every major career decision is discussed as a family before she commits to a new project.
Speaking to People in 2024, the actress said they hold family meetings to talk through filming schedules, travel commitments and how each project could affect their lives.
“Before I take a job, we sit down and have a meeting,” Adams said. “Here's what it will look like. Here's the traveling. How do we feel about that?”
She added that Aviana has always been included in those conversations and enjoys travelling with her parents.
“We've been talking about it since she was quite young,” Adams explained.
“How do you feel about spending a summer in Boston? Or coming to England with me when I do the play? I'm really lucky she's got a lot of wanderlust and she loves traveling.”
Adams' latest project, Cape Fear, is a 10-episode Apple TV+ psychological thriller that reimagines the 1991 film of the same name for a modern audience.
The series finale is scheduled to premiere on July 31.
