Actress Taraji P. Henson, 55, has firmly denied undergoing plastic surgery after speculation erupted in the comments section of an Instagram post shared on Thursday, following her courtside appearance at Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs.
Henson posted a series of photographs of herself at the game, dressed in a denim-on-denim look and posing alongside rapper RZA and other friends. The post quickly attracted comments suggesting her appearance had changed.
Henson's response
After one commenter wrote "Something looks different" and another suggested her images had been edited, Henson stepped in directly to address the claims. She pointed to her demanding Broadway schedule as evidence that a surgical procedure would have been logistically impossible. "Y'all kill me with this s---," she wrote in the comments. "I HAVE DONE NOTHING TO MY DAMN FACE. I AM ON BROADWAY!!! LIVE THEATER WHEN THE HELL WOULD I HAVE TIME FOR A SURGERY. JUST STOP THE MADNESS. LIKE FR."
The game-day post
Henson had captioned the original Instagram post with: "BIG nyknicks ENERGY. Stepped out last night in all denim and diamonds. It was a moment. What a game!!!" The Empire alumna is currently starring in Joe Turner's Come and Gone on Broadway, a production that she cited as the reason her schedule leaves no room for cosmetic procedures.
