Elisha Cuthbert has opened up about the demanding production schedule of the hit espionage drama 24, reflecting on the show’s legacy ahead of its 25th anniversary and hinting that a potential return for a new season would be a major undertaking.

Cuthbert, who portrayed Kim Bauer on the long-running series, spoke while promoting her new Amazon Prime Video project Every Year After, offering candid insight into the intensity of filming the Fox thriller.

“It’s hard to imagine, really, the scope of it,” she said. “It was a whirlwind. I mean, the success of it all was overwhelming and thrilling and exciting.”

She described the production as both rewarding and exhausting, particularly given the show’s real-time storytelling format and heavy focus on action sequences.

“I have great memories of that time, but also, it was really intense too,” Cuthbert said. “We were working so much that the one-hour format, especially with all the action and all the intense night shoots, it was not an easy show to film.”

The actress added that while the cast and crew worked efficiently, the schedule remained extremely demanding throughout its run.

“It was a well-oiled machine, but it still was a grueling schedule,” she said.

Cuthbert acknowledged the show’s groundbreaking impact on television but suggested that returning to that pace today would be unlikely for her.

“I don’t know if I’d have the energy to partake in that again,” she admitted, while still calling the experience “special” and “amazing.”

The original series, which aired from 2001 to 2010, starred Kiefer Sutherland and ran for nine seasons, becoming one of the defining TV thrillers of its era.

Cuthbert’s comments come as the series approaches its 25th anniversary, sparking renewed discussion among fans about a possible continuation or revival.

Meanwhile, her latest project Every Year After, adapted from Carley Fortune’s novel Every Summer After, was released on Amazon Prime Video on June 10, 2026.
