Robby Hoffman teases ‘Quinceañera Bat Mitzvah’ idea for Gabby Windey

Robby Hoffman has shared a playful idea for how she would celebrate if her wife Gabby Windey ever decides to convert to Judaism — imagining a hybrid “quinceañera-themed bat mitzvah.”

In an exclusive interview with People, the comedian, 39, said the concept reflects both their cultural backgrounds and Windey’s personal history.

“If she converts of her own volition and we have a bat mitzvah, it should be quinceañera themed,” Hoffman said.

“It would be the perfect combination for us. The quinceañera bat mitzvah could be excellent. We can be the first.”

Hoffman explained that Windey, 35, never had a quinceañera growing up due to frequently moving as a military child, which inspired the blended celebration idea.

“She never got to have a quinceañera because she was a military brat and moved around a lot,” she said.

Despite the creative proposal, Hoffman emphasized that there is no pressure on Windey to convert and that the couple is simply enjoying their life together as it is.

“We’re not really actively pursuing anything,” she said. “She just, I think, wants to be matching.”

Hoffman, who was raised in a Hasidic Jewish household, noted that she now identifies as more spiritual than religious, though she still observes certain traditions.

“I still pray at night — I’m not an animal,” she joked, adding that Windey sometimes views her as “the most religious person she’s ever met.”

The comedian also reflected on her relationship, which began in 2023 after the pair met in Los Angeles and later led to a surprise Las Vegas wedding in January 2025.

Hoffman said she was immediately drawn to Windey and moved quickly in expressing her feelings early in the relationship.

“I was very honest about my intentions,” she said, recalling telling Windey she loved her just 13 days into dating.

She also shared that the public response to their relationship has been overwhelmingly positive.

“The response has been tremendous,” Hoffman said. “People like us!”

While Hoffman often incorporates her marriage into her stand-up comedy, she admitted she does not typically run material by Windey beforehand, noting that her wife is outspoken and unafraid to react.

The couple, who frequently appear supportive of each other’s careers, continue to keep most of their private life out of the public eye while occasionally offering glimpses into their relationship.
