Corey Feldman rushed to hospital after falling ill mid-flight
A doctor on board reportedly evaluated Corey Feldman before paramedics took him to a hospital
Corey Feldman has been hospitalized after experiencing a medical emergency during a flight from Chicago to Los Angeles.
The 54-year-old former child star reportedly became unwell while traveling on Monday, June 15, and was met by paramedics after the plane landed before being transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
According to reports, a doctor who was on board the flight examined Feldman and suspected he could be dealing with pancreatitis or gallstones. He was later taken to hospital, where he underwent additional tests.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that crews responded to an airport call involving a man experiencing a medical emergency and transported him for medical care.
The health scare came shortly after Feldman was in Chicago for a special event celebrating the 40th anniversary of the classic film Stand by Me.
Feldman appeared at The Chicago Theatre alongside his former co-stars Jerry O'Connell and Wil Wheaton as part of the final stop of his anniversary speaking tour.
During his time in the area, Feldman also visited Gary, Indiana, where he paid tribute to the childhood home of Michael Jackson and shared photos from the visit on social media.
Feldman had recently expressed excitement about the success of his Stand By Me anniversary tour, suggesting that additional dates could potentially be added due to strong audience response.
The actor has also previously spoken publicly about his struggles with addiction and his journey toward sobriety. Feldman revealed that he began getting sober decades ago and has maintained long-term sobriety after overcoming past challenges.
In a previous interview, he described his addiction period as a difficult chapter in his life, but said he has remained committed to living a sober lifestyle for many years.
