Rod Stewart takes health scare moment on stage as singer uses oxygen tank mid-concert

Rod Stewart experienced a concerning moment during his latest concert after the legendary singer nearly fainted onstage and briefly paused the performance.

The 81-year-old musician was performing at the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre in West Valley City, Utah, on Friday, June 19, when he appeared to become unwell during the show.

According to reports, Stewart was seen leaning over and doubling down in discomfort before crew members assisted him backstage, where he used an oxygen tank to help with his breathing.

After the brief interruption, Stewart returned to address the audience and shared that he had nearly fainted.

The singer kept the mood light by making jokes about the situation before continuing the concert.

Stewart completed the performance while sitting in a chair, showing his commitment to finishing the show for his fans.

The incident comes shortly after the “Maggie May” singer faced a series of health-related setbacks.

Earlier this month, Stewart announced that several of his Las Vegas residency shows would be rescheduled after his doctor advised him to rest and recover from the flu.

Days later, he canceled four performances and postponed two more shows in Nevada and California as part of his One Last Time Tour after being diagnosed with an acute upper respiratory infection that led to laryngitis.

“I’m devastated and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience to my fans,” Stewart wrote at the time, adding that he hoped to return to the stage soon.

Stewart’s team previously explained that the singer was unable to perform after doctors advised him not to take the stage, despite him already arriving at the venue.

The rock icon is expected to continue his One Last Time Tour, with more U.S. shows scheduled throughout July and August. The tour is currently set to conclude on Aug. 15 in St. Louis.

Last year, Stewart was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 American Music Awards, celebrating his decades-long career in music.
