Daytime Emmy-nominated actor dies after battle with cancer
Scott Bryce, the Daytime Emmy-nominated actor best known for playing Craig Montgomery on As the World Turns and starring in Popular, has died at the age of 68 following a long battle with cancer.
His son, Jackson, announced that Bryce died on July 12, revealing that the actor's stage-three oesophageal cancer later spread to his brain.

In a tribute shared on social media, Jackson Bryce said his father "lost his long-fought battle with cancer" after the disease progressed to brain tumours.
Bryce earned consecutive Daytime Emmy nominations for Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 1986 and 1987 for portraying the ambitious Craig Montgomery on As the World Turns. He first played the role from 1982 to 1987 before returning for several guest stints in later years. He also appeared on One Life to Live.
Career spanned more than three decades
Beyond daytime television, Bryce was a series regular on Ryan Murphy's WB comedy-drama Popular, playing the father of Leslie Bibb's Brooke McQueen throughout the show's two-season run from 1999 to 2001.
Over a screen career spanning more than 35 years, Bryce appeared in numerous television series, including The Facts of Life, The Golden Girls, Murphy Brown, Law & Order, ER, 30 Rock, Homeland, Gossip Girl, Chicago P.D., The Blacklist and Blue Bloods.
Born in New York City on January 6, 1958, Bryce built a career largely through television roles, becoming a familiar face across network dramas, sitcoms and soap operas.
Information about his surviving family members, apart from his son Jackson, was not immediately available.
