Ben Affleck's fast-food confession steals spotlight on 'Millionaire'
Ben Affleck plays for his charity on 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire'
Ben Affleck confessed he eats McDonald's 'all the time' while putting his trivia skills to the test on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, where his fast-food knowledge helped him advance in the competition.
The Oscar winner teamed up with Jeopardy! champion Jamie Ding on the season 5 premiere of the ABC game show, competing for a chance to win $1 million for Affleck's charity, the Eastern Congo Initiative.
Affleck's McDonald's confession
During the game, the pair faced a question asking which McDonald's sandwich comes with half a slice of cheese unless customers request more.
Despite admitting, "I eat a lot of McDonald's — like a lot. All the time," Affleck and Ding used the audience lifeline before correctly choosing the Filet-O-Fish, securing $32,000.
Matt Damon joke pays off
The duo later answered a $250,000 question about Spain's annual El Colacho festival, where men dressed as devils leap over babies.
Affleck said he remembered the unusual tradition after watching longtime friend Matt Damon answer a similar Spain-related question on an earlier episode.
"This is a tip to Matt Damon. Thank you, Matt," Affleck joked, prompting host Jimmy Kimmel to continue his long-running mock feud with the actor.
Team advances to final questions
Affleck correctly convinced Ding to choose "babies," earning another correct answer before the episode ended.
Their remaining two questions will air on the next episode of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire on July 29.
