Sam Levinson pays tribute to Eric Dane in 'Euphoria' special
Eric Dane described Euphoria as the most meaningful experience of his acting career in a documentary filmed before his death, with the late actor reflecting on the HBO drama's impact and remembering co-star Angus Cloud.
The posthumous interview appears in Euphoria: A Look Back, which features cast and crew revisiting the series following its conclusion.

Dane, who portrayed Cal Jacobs throughout the show's three-season run, said working on Euphoria stood out among all of his projects.
"It was at times challenging, but the challenges were taken as opportunities."
He added:
"It's been such a wonderful experience."
Series creator Sam Levinson also paid tribute to Dane, describing him as "a wonderful human being" and "a wonderful actor."
"He showed up every day with grace and dignity," Levinson said.
Actor remembered Angus Cloud
During the special, Dane also reflected on the loss of co-star Angus Cloud, who died in 2023 at the age of 25.
Calling Cloud "a very talented young man," Dane admitted his death "was tough on all of us."
Dane died in February 2026 at the age of 53 following a battle with ALS. Before his death, he completed filming his scenes for Euphoria season 3.
The season's premiere included an on-screen tribute reading, "In remembrance of Eric Dane. 1972–2026."
Documentary revisits show's legacy
Euphoria: A Look Back features new interviews with several cast members, including Jacob Elordi and Sydney Sweeney, alongside archival footage of Zendaya.
Elordi recalled feeling extremely nervous during his audition, while Levinson praised the actor's commitment from the beginning.
The documentary also revisits the show's rise from a teen drama into one of HBO's biggest hits, with the cast reflecting on the friendships and careers shaped by the series.
