Meghan Markle posts California garden photo following UK visit
Duchess Meghan Markle posted a social media update showing her return to California
Meghan Markle signalled her return to California on Sunday evening by posting a social media photograph of herself browsing a garden centre. The 44-year-old Duchess of Sussex posted the picture featuring visible palm trees and bright sunshine in the background, confirming the Montecito setting. Markle appeared to be loading potted plants into a trolley, captioning the social media post with a potted plant emoji and a spade. She wore her hair pulled back in a ponytail with a DÔEN headband, pairing a J.Crew jumper with Anine Bing jeans and Veronica Beard loafers.
The relaxed outing followed an eventful summer for the Sussexes across Europe. Earlier in the month, Markle, Prince Harry, and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, travelled together to the United Kingdom. During the trip, the family were pictured bringing flowers to the grave of Princess Diana. Prince Harry's maternal uncle, Earl Charles Spencer, hosted the Sussexes at the Althorp Estate alongside his fourth wife, Countess Cat Spencer.
The UK visit also included a private audience with the King and Queen at Highgrove House, marking a notable moment for the family amid their time in Britain. Beyond their UK visit, the couple took Archie and Lilibet on a summer break in Portugal, which Markle later confirmed on social media. Among the digital images she shared from the holiday, one featured a menu from O Melidense, a coastal beachfront restaurant located in an area often referred to as the "Hamptons of Portugal."
