Abigail Jensen opens up about Botox ordeal before tying the knot

Comedian and influencer Abigail Jensen has opened up about a cosmetic procedure that went wrong before her wedding, revealing that masseter Botox temporarily left her unable to smile properly.

Jensen, who got engaged to actor Jesse Townes in 2023, shared her experience in a humorous Instagram post, describing the ordeal as a "harrowing tale" after deciding to try the treatment less than a year before her August 2024 wedding.

Masseter Botox is commonly used to relieve jaw clenching and teeth grinding associated with TMJ disorder.

It can also slim the jawline by relaxing the masseter muscles, making it a popular cosmetic treatment.

However, Jensen said the injections had an unexpected effect, leaving "half of my face" unable to move properly.

While her face appeared more sculpted when expressionless, she struggled to smile naturally for several months.

As the Botox gradually wore off, she regained movement, but the weakened muscles caused her cheeks to droop.

Hoping to restore her appearance before her wedding, Jensen opted for cheek fillers, which she said gave her the confidence to smile on her big day.

Reflecting on the experience, Jensen urged others to avoid trying unfamiliar cosmetic procedures close to major life events.

"Don't touch your face close to your wedding," she wrote, adding that people are already beautiful without changing a thing.

Her story comes after comedian and Summer House star Hannah Berner also revealed that masseter Botox left her temporarily unable to smile following treatment for TMJ.
