Usher stops onstage dance after noticing fan's reaction

Usher cut short one of his signature onstage interactions after noticing a fan appeared uncomfortable during a performance on his R&B Tour in Nashville.

The 47-year-old singer was performing at Nissan Stadium alongside Chris Brown on July 25 when he invited concertgoer Gabrielle Cheyenne onstage for his well-known flirtatious segment.

Videos shared on social media showed the pair sitting together on a bed as Usher serenaded the fan.

As he leaned in closer, Gabrielle appeared to pull back, prompting the singer to pause the performance.

"I don't think she want to be on the stage," Usher told the crowd before signalling for crew members to escort the fan offstage.

The moment quickly sparked debate online, with some viewers questioning Gabrielle's reaction.

However, she later defended herself in a series of social media posts, insisting she had enjoyed the experience and rejecting criticism from internet users.

Gabrielle revealed that she and her group had been selected and moved to the VIP section before the concert began, adding that they were not told in advance they would be chosen for the onstage segment.

Responding to the backlash, she criticised online trolls and said people should not judge an experience they were not part of.

Her mother also shared a photograph of Gabrielle posing with Usher's wife, Jenn Goicoechea, in the VIP area after the concert, suggesting there were no hard feelings following the brief onstage encounter.

Usher's joint R&B Tour with Chris Brown began in June and is scheduled to continue across North America through December.
