Emily Blunt has reacted to a resurfaced video of her from a show, in which the actress called a waitress  "enormous", while telling a restaurant story.

During   her exclusive conversation with PEOPLE magazine, the Oppenheimer star expressed her thoughts on a video clip from the 2012's Jonathan Ross Show, where she was recalling her time filming Looper.

The Devil Wears Prada actress set the record straight on her resurfaced video in an exclusive statement to the outlet, saying, "I just need to address this head on as my jaw was on the floor watching this clip from 12-years ago.”

“I’m appalled that I would say something so insensitive, hurtful, and unrelated to whatever story I was trying to tell on a talk show,” added Blunt, while seemingly apologizing for using insensitive language.

The 40-year-old actress further noted, “I’ve always considered myself someone who wouldn’t dream of upsetting anyone so whatever possessed me to say anything like this in that moment is unrecognizable to me or anything I stand for."

In the video, Blunt could be seen recalling the dinner she had at a local Chili’s restaurant during filming of Looper, with the show host Ross, who says “If you go to Chili’s you can see why so many of our American friends are enormous.”

Blunt responded  saying, “well the girl who was serving me was enormous,” while recalling that the waitress recognized the Edge of Tomorrow actress during her visit to the restaurant.

Emily Blunt reached the horizons of  success and popularity with her role Katherine "Kitty" Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer, released on July 21, 2023.
