Rachel Zegler reminisces her connection with Jennifer Lawrence on ‘The Hunger Games’ set

Rachel Zegler reveals a unique connection she forged with Jennifer Lawrence, anchored in their shared experience won the set of  The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snake.

Zegler opened up about the development of a genuine bond, shedding light on the camaraderie that emerged through their mutual appreciation for the iconic film series

During the premiere of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, the 22-year-old actress talked about how participating in the movie spinoff has created a robust bond between her and the 33-year-old star.

She told to PEOPLE, “I had already filmed it when I had met her and we really just were able to bond over the fact that we know so many of the same people.”

The Snow White star went on to say about her friendship with the No Hard Feelings actor, “One of my good friends is Andrew Barth Feldman, who she just did No Hard Feelings with and, obviously, Francis Lawrence is obsessed with her.”

Zegler added, “Everyone who worked on our movies came over from the original trilogy to work on ours.”

She continued to say that meeting the Red Sparrow star “relieved the pressure and made us feel like we were able to do our own thing.”

The Shazam starlet quipped, "Though, if she had ever wanted to give me tips, I absolutely would have been open to hearing them,"

For the unversed, Lawrence took on the lead as Katniss Everdeen in the initial four instalments of The Hunger Games, while Ziegler embodies the character Lucy Gray Baird.

Positioned six decades prior to the inaugural 2012 Hunger Games film, The Ballad of Songbirds And Snakes narrates Baird's journey after being chosen as a tribute from District 12.

In this tale, she is paired with a young Coriolanus Snow, who serves as her mentor for the 10th edition of the Hunger Games.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will be released in theatres on November 13, 2023.
