Rebecca Yarro’s ‘Iron Flame’ sequel launch suffers mishap

Iron Flame, the sequel to Rebecca Yarro’s acclaimed novel Fourth Wing, has been one of the most anticipated books of 2023.

The second installment of Fourth Wing was launched on November 7, 2023.

The release of the sequel has been on a bumpy ride ever since as readers all over TikTok complain about misprinting and missing pages from the book.

According to Insider, some books had misprinted spines with the title Fourth Wing instead of Iron Flame on it, some books had the title of the spine bleeding onto the back of the hardcover copies, and some books had the author’s name written upside down.

Other readers took to TikTok to reveal that entire pages in their book were printed upside down, some showed parts of the book where paragraphs were misprinted and even some books that were printed entirely upside down as well as backwards.

A fan of Yarro’s series uploaded a video of her book skipping directly to page 83 from page 34, as reported by Insider.

The reactions of fans are a mix of bitter sweet sentiments as some view the misprinted books as collectables while the rest express their disappointment in not being able to read the second part of the book as anticipated.

The renowned book developed its own fandom on TikTok who gathered together to celebrate the release of    Iron Flame at different bookstores.

Rebbeca Yarro herself joined a celebration at Barnes and Nobles but mispronounced some Scottish Gaelic words that she had used in her novel, during a Q&A which caused disappointment amongst fans.

According to Bloomberg, the author addressed her fans after her little mishap, saying, “Guys, I don’t speak Gaelic. I am really sorry, but I did find a tutor. I may butcher these words right now so please have some grace for me ... Next year, I will have some better pronunciations for you, I promise.”
