'The Crown' star Fflyn Edwards talks about playing Prince Harry
'The Crown' is set to revisit the late Princess Diana’s last moments with her sons, Prince Harry and Prince William
The Crown star, Fflyn Edwards, slated to play Prince Harry in the much-anticipated final season, recently revealed his unconventional casting experience
While enjoying a day at the beach in St. Davids, Wales, his mother interrupted playtime, not just to deliver the thrilling news of his prestigious role but to ensure his fair complexion stayed pristine for the part.
This included lathering Edwards in sunscreen, with a strict directive to avoid tanning before filming.
He confessed to not having seen the famed series before landing the role, resorting to YouTube to immerse himself in Prince Harry's history.
From grasping Harry’s distinctive accent to tolerating the warm wig designed to mimic the royal's red hair, the young actor delved into meticulous preparations for his role.
Moreover, Edwards' comfort in speaking Welsh, his native tongue, provided a sense of home while on set, as few others could converse in it.
"It was nice really because I was far from home [so it was good] to see Welsh people and speak the language with them, talking in English for a long time does make me miss the language, and speaking to someone [in Welsh] does feel like home," he said.
His plans to delve into previous seasons of the series remain tentative, with rugby likely to take priority in his leisure time.
