Keke Palmer broke a record as she won the Creative Emmy Award for Outstanding Host for a game show, at the 75th Creative Arts Emmy Award’s on Sunday, January 7, 2024.

As reported by PEOPLE, the media personality won the award for hosting the game show, Password, and became the first woman to win the award in 15 years. 

She is also the first black woman to win the award or even be nominated.

Overwhelmed with joy, the Password game show host said, "Wow. That is so exciting thank you so much. I'm really just so thankful, I'm almost speechless."

Expressing her heartfelt gratitude to everyone, Palmer continued, "I want to thank the people who allowed this to happen, thank you to Jimmy Fallon, thank you to NBC."

As a kind gesture, after the award show Jimmy Fallon praised Palmer, referring to her as "Sharp, charming and quick-witted all while looking like a superstar. There’s no one like Keke Palmer."

The now Emmy-award winning host, also expressed her joy on social media.

She took to her official Instagram account to post about her historical accomplishment with pictures of her holding the award in her hands.

“Couldn’t do it without you @jimmyfallon!” she wrote in the caption. “I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be apart of such a classic game show such as Password. It’s a true honor, I won! I’m excited, BOOTS! Thank you to the @televisionacad,” her caption read.

Palmer bagged the Emmy award as she competed against nominees Steve Harvey from Family Feud, Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik from Jeopardy!, and Pat Sajak from Wheel of Fortune.
