Willem Dafoe thanked his wife, Giada Colagrande for her support, during Walk of Fame event

Willem Dafoe expressed gratitude to his wife, Giada Colagrande, during the Hollywood Walk of Fame's first star ceremony of the year, on Monday.
As reported by PEOPLE magazine, Dafoe thanked Colagrande,with whom he got married in 2005, for her support over the years, while giving the acceptance speech after receiving his star at the event.
The Spider-Man actor began his speech with, "I just want to say it’s wonderful to be part of this community of artists and entertainers, people that by sharing their experience, imagining others’ perspectives, telling stories, and musing on what is, was, and most importantly could be."
"They make us feel closer to each other and connect us, creating an important dialogue particularly needed in these detached, technology-driven and divisive times. So I’m glad to be with people like this and hopefully we’re making this a better world somehow," he added.

Dafoe concluded his speech showing gratitude to his wife, saying, "Finally, thank you to my wife Giada Colagrande, who teaches me gratitude and reminds me not to spit on my luck."
During the ceremony, the 68-year-old actor also remarked his enduring and prosperous acting career.

Willem Dafoe tied the knot with his wife, Giada Colagrande, who is a filmmaker and musician, on March 25, 2005.
During an interview with The Guardian, in 2009, Dafoe shared that the couple first crossed paths "on the streets of Rome in 2004.”
The Platoon actor further explained, "I knew of her because I'd seen her films and we had some mutual friends."
Dafoe also said at that time, "We were having lunch and I said Do you want to get married tomorrow? I called up City Hall and they said If you get here in the next couple of hours, you can register and then you can get married tomorrow."
