Hollywood might create beautiful on-screen chemistry, but behind the camera, not all stars get along. The tensions, egos, and creative differences between the costars often tell a very different story.

Here are some of the co-stars who hated each other:

Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio:

Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes played Shakespeare’s ultimate lovers in

Romeo + Juliet, but real life told another story. DiCaprio’s love for pranks on set clashed with Danes’ more serious approach.

She thought he was “immature and childish” and chose to ignore him, while DiCaprio considered her “too uptight.”

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Vin Diesel:

When Johnson joined the blockbuster franchise Fast & Furious, it caused tensions with longtime star Vin Diesel.

Their feud spilled into public view in 2016 when Johnson posted a fiery Instagram caption, writing, “There’s no other franchise that gets my blood boiling more than this one… My male costars, however, are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t.”

Diesel later fired back, insisting, “I protect everybody including Dwayne. I protected Dwayne more than he’ll ever know.”

Leighton Meester and Blake Lively:

On-screen, Serena and Blair in Gossip Girl, were inseparable, but reality was a bit different. In 2008, reports surfaced that the two stars avoided each other completely.

A source told New York Daily News, "Leighton Meester and Blake Lively avoid each other like the plague while castmates choose sides.”

Lively’s team didn’t exactly deny it, telling Harper’s Bazaar, “Blake and Leighton have never been best friends, and never professed to be. Blake goes to work, does her job, and goes home.”

Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams:

Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling became one of the most beloved on-screen and real-life couples, however their union did not last long. Director Nick Cassavetes revealed that Gosling once asked for McAdams to be removed from set, frustrated by their lack of chemistry.

“They were really not getting along,” Cassavetes recalled. The pair eventually hashed things out behind closed doors with a producer, and the truce worked—McAdams and Gosling dated from 2005 to 2007.

Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker:

Despite playing best friends in Sex and the City, the reality was far colder. Reports claim the two would avoid each other when cameras stopped rolling. The feud carried over into HBO’s reboot And Just Like That…, where Cattrall refused to film scenes with Parker and instead shot her cameo separately.

The fallout is often attributed to pay disparities. Cattrall was reportedly unhappy that Parker earned significantly more than the rest of the cast.
