Farhan Saeed, Ali Sethi and more honor late star Rashid Khan

Ustad Rashid Khan left the music industry mourning after he lost battle to cancer on Tuesday.

Many musicians including Farhan Saeed and Ali Sethi penned a note for the late singer.

As reported by Hindustan Times, the West Bengal Chief Minister of India, Mamata Banerjee, sent her condolences to the Rashid’s family and shared that he was like a brother to her.

She exclaimed, "He was like my brother. He used to call me mother."

Taking to Instagram Stories, Ali and Farhan paid their respects to the late star.

Ali wrote, "Rest in Peace Ustad Rashid Khan," while Farhan posted a snap of the maestro, bidding him farewell with a heartfelt "RIP."

Javed Bashir called the death of Rahid an “irreplaceable loss” in his tribute post.

Taking to X, he wrote, "An irreplaceable loss in the realm of classical music as Ustad Rashid Ali Khan embarks on his next journey. A profound figure and like a big brother to me. His legacy will forever resonate."

An Indian singer Harshdeep Kaur also wrote a lengthy note to express her deep sadness on social media.

She penned, “Extremely sad news... Ustad Rashid Khan Ji passes away... this is a huge loss to the world of music. He will always be remembered for his excellence in music and his voice will reverberate in our hearts forever. Rest in Peace #Rashid Khan Saab.”

Ustad Rashid Khan was born in Badayun, Uttar Pradesh. He started his musical journey at the age of 10 when he moved to the ITC Sangeet Research Academy in Kolkata.

In 2006, the renowned singer won the prestigious award Padma Shri and in 2010 Rashid received the Global Indian Music Academy Awards (GIMA) .
