Boeing cargo plane lands safely amid engine malfunction in Miami
Atlas Air Flight en route to Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport in Puerto Rico, experienced engine failure
Boeing cargo plane responsible for deliveries and passenger charter flights experienced an engine malfunction leading to an emergency landing at Miami International Airport.
According to TIME report, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will conduct an investigation into the incident that took place on January 18, 2024.
Notably, the video circulating online showed the plane on fire mid-air. But, the local fire department confirmed that there was no evidence of fire upon landing.
Atlas Air Flight 95, en route to Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport in Puerto Rico, experienced engine failure as reported by the crew.
The aircraft successfully landed at approximately 10:30 p.m. local time, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Responding to the emergency, six units from the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue were deployed, although no signs of fire were observed during or after the landing.

An Atlas Air spokesperson stated that the crew followed standard procedures, ensuring a safe return to Miami.
"The crew followed all standard procedures and safely returned to MIA. At Atlas, safety is always our top priority and we will be conducting a thorough inspection," it stated.
The company emphasized its commitment to safety as a top priority and announced plans for a comprehensive inspection.
However, specific details about the number of occupants on board were not disclosed.
Boeing, the aircraft manufacturer, expressed its dedication to supporting both its customer and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigation.
