Billy Joel released his music video for the song, Turn the Lights Back On, on February 16, 2024 using the tools of Artificial Intelligence to take his fans on a journey of his life.

The newly launched video is his first in decades and features the 74-year-old musician, playing the song through different phases of his life which were depicted through the help of AI, via an intelligence startup, Deep Voodoo.

Turn the Lights Back On is directed by Warren Fu and Freddy Wexler and begins with a view of Joel flipping pages of a notebook page displaying the lyrics for his song Famous Last Words.

As a new black page can be seen, the singer started playing the piano to the tune of Turn the Lights Back On. As he begins singing, the video transitions to an older view of Joel.

Th power ballad’s much-anticipated video which was over two years in the making and marks the iconic piano man's first song in almost two decades.

Turn the Lights Back On is produced by Freddy Wexler and co-written by Joel, Arthur Bacon, and Wayne Hector. This song was performed by Joel, live, for the first time at the 2024 Grammy Awards which garnered the musician a standing ovation.
