Joey King shared her excitement about married life during her first red carpet appearance alongside her husband, Steven Piet.

As per PEOPLE report, during the premiere of We Were the Lucky Ones in Los Angeles, the Kissing Booth actress expressed her joy in being newlywed.

She told the outlet that while their dynamic hadn't drastically changed since living together previously, everything now feels ‘a little bit sweeter.’

King said, “It's hard to say because people like ... Nothing really changed because we've lived together before. But I always say, and this is very true, that there's just something ... Everything's just a little bit sweeter now.”

The Bullet Train actress and the Uncle John director first met on the set of 2019 drama, The Act and got married in August 2022.

On the work front, King is making waves professionally with her role in Hulu's We Were the Lucky Ones.

The series, adapted from Georgia Hunter's novel, recounts the plight of a Jewish family separated during World War II.

Emphasizing on the project’s personal significance, the actress said, “I am a Jewish woman and I also think it's so important as the years go by and as more and more Holocaust survivors are losing their lives and they're getting older, soon there will be none left.”

“And it is our responsibility to keep this period of time in history alive through our industry, and I couldn't be prouder,” she added.
