Billy Ray Cyrus says 'My Wit's End' amid leaked video scandal
Billy Ray Cyrus also gave the warning to take legal action against Fireros
Billy Ray Cyrus addressed the tape that shows him scolding his estranged wife, Firerose, during their pending divorce.
In response to an audio recording that PEOPLE had obtained, the country music icon turned to social media on Wednesday, July 24, following his seven-month marriage to singer-songwriter Firerose (previously known as Johanna Hodges).
He was heard insulting and ridiculing Firerose on the recording.
Cyrus' representative shared in the statement, “Hell yeah I was at my wit's end. As every day went by, I started realizing something was wrong. And that’s before I knew she was a fraud.”
He added, “I just knew something wasn’t right. That was before I knew she was David Hodges' ex-wife. That’s before I knew her parents' last name.”
The Hannah Montana alum noted, “Everything I thought I knew about her, was a lie,” alleging that Firerose, 37, “was trying to take over my career, my life and usurp the Cyrus name for her own gain.”
He gave a warning to take legal action against Firerose.
It should be noted that Firerose had previously accused Biley Ray Cyrus of "severe verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse" in documents filed on June 14.
In response, Cyrus filed documents after 10 days claiming Firerose had abused him physically, mentally, and verbally.
