Drew Barrymore dishes on why she felt safe while filming 'Batman Forever'
Drew Barrymore reminisced about the time she shared set with the deceased actor, Val Kilmer, during the filming of Batman Forever movie, which was released in 1995.
For the unversed, Kilmer, the Top Gun actor, died of pneumonia in Los Angeles at age 65 on April 1.
While recalling her experience working on the set of Batman Forver, Barrymore shared she was not fully convinced to join the project.
"I was friends with Joel Schumacher, the director, who I thought of this morning because it was he and Val Kilmer that pulled me into Batman Forever,"she recalled.
On Monday, April 7, in the episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the host invited the Bondsman performer, Kevin Bacon where they both reflected on their present and past journeys.
Barrymore, 50, revealed how she felt working opposite Kilmer, she said, "Val Kilmer was so nice to me. So nurturing and kind and safe which was a very important thing for me."
Kevin stepped in and added how Kilmer’s gesture towards her co-actor was "probably not that common in those days."
To which, The Charlie's Angels agreed, saying, "Yeah, I was like, ‘Nobody wants anything from me, they want things for me,’ which I thought was really interesting."
Towards the end of the interview, Kevin also recalled working with the late actor in the Broadway show, Slab Boys.
"It was great. I just always look at that as one of the great experiences of my life and getting a chance to know him," Kevin Bacon concluded.
