Seth Rogen’s Donald Trump criticism brutally cut during latest awards streaming
Rogen’s comments on Trump were omitted before they ever came to light

While presenting an award during the ceremony known as Oscars of Science, Seth Rogen brought his famously candid self to make an unprompted criticism of US President Donald Trump in connection with the support for him by the country’s tech industry.
At the 2025 Breakthrough Prize ceremony, Rogen called out Trump and his cronies while presenting the Special Breakthrough Prize in Physics.
Standing next to co-presenter Edward Norton, the 43-year-old actor and comedian, boldly remarked, “And it’s amazing that others in this room underwrote electing a man who, in the last week, single-handedly destroyed all of American science.”
Though the comments made Norton visibly uneasy, the Canadian performer continued to express his disdain, adding, “It’s amazing how much good science you can destroy with $320 million and RFK Jr, very fast.”
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was sworn in as America’s Secretary of Health and Human Services this year in what was seen as a highly controversial decision, given his hotly contested views about science, which includes an anti-vaccination stance.
While the gathering was recorded on April 5, its footage on YouTube published earlier this week, entirely cut the crude comments on Trump.
Addressing the decision to exclude The Studio creator’s criticism of President Trump, a spokesperson for the Breakthrough Prize explained in a statement, “This year’s ceremony lasted longer than the prior few years, and several edits were made in order to meet the originally planned run time.”
At the Breakthrough Prize awards hosted by James Corden, Seth Rogen and Edward Norton were also joined by other Hollywood heavyweights including Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, and Vin Diesel, among many others, as well as Silicon Valley bigwigs like Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos.
