‘Another Simple Favor’ actor Henry Golding reflects on working with Blake Lively

Another Simple Favor actor, Henry Golding recently reflected on working with Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, the leading ladies of sequel to 2018’s A Simple Favor.

The 38-year-old actor, who plays the character of Sean, Lively’s character’s ex-husband, in an interview with the Today show's third hour discussed working with Lively and Kendrick specifically.

“Coming back and filming with the girls again was like putting on a worn-in pair of [sneakers] and going for a casual run,” said The Gentleman actor, adding, “There’s no pre-jitters of a new production or meeting new actors or a director — you just go straight back into the relationship you had, and you know all your characters so well.”

While discussing his role in the first comedy-thriller, the Last Christmas star said that he was just the “punch bag between” Lively’s and Kendrick’s character in the first movie.

The Crazy Rich Asians actor said that dynamics have shifted in the sequel as “the guy who came back, he’s had five or six years to mull and have everything soak into him.”

“He’s hit the bottle, said Henry Golding, adding, “He’s sort of lost his inhibitions and just decided to give back as much as he takes.”
