Nintendo Switch 2 to have ‘PIN lock’ feature
In a remarkable breakthrough, Nintendo has announced a significant security enhancement with its new "System Lock" feature for the upcoming “Nintendo Switch 2” console.
This new feature will allow Switch 2 users to protect their device with a personal identification number (PIN).
This feature enables users to lock their system when it's in sleep mode, requiring the PIN to unlock it and access the console.
The PIN lock feature is a notable improvement over the original Switch's "Screen Lock" option, which requires pressing the same button three times to unlock the device after waking it from sleep mode.
In contrast, the Switch 2's System Lock provides an additional layer of security by allowing users to set a specific PIN, thereby preventing unauthorised access to their console.
This feature will likely be particularly useful for users who plan to take their Switch 2 on the go, as it provides peace of mind knowing that their device is secure even if it's lost or stolen.
Additionally, the Switch 2 will also feature Joy-Con mouse mode, enabling users to navigate the homescreen with a cursor.
To note, the Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch on June 5, and users can look forward to experiencing these new features firsthand.
