Elon Musk is reportedly requiring banks involved in SpaceX’s planned IPO to subscribe to his artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot Grok, in a move that underscores his push to expand the tool’s presence in the corporate world.

According to a report by The New York Times, financial institutions advising on the offering—including Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America and Citigroup—have been asked to integrate Grok into their internal systems.

Some have reportedly agreed to spend tens of millions of dollars annually on subscriptions, though most declined to comment publicly.

The reported requirement appears to be part of Musk’s broader strategy to strengthen Grok’s foothold in enterprise markets.

By embedding the AI tool within major banks, Musk could secure large-scale adoption across the financial sector, significantly boosting its reach and influence.

Neither SpaceX nor Musk has officially responded to the claims, and several banks have remained tight-lipped on the matter.

Meanwhile, anticipation around SpaceX’s IPO continues to grow. The company is reportedly targeting a valuation exceeding $2 trillion, with plans to raise up to $75 billion—potentially making it the largest public offering in history.

If achieved, it would surpass landmark listings such as Saudi Aramco’s 2019 debut and Alibaba’s 2014 IPO.

Analysts noted that the scale of the deal makes participation highly attractive for banks, which may explain their willingness to consider additional conditions tied to the offering.
