In a surprising twist, Seth Rogen has recently come forward making a surprising admission regarding his acting career.

On June 11, the 43-year-old Canadian actor and comedian participated in The Hollywood Reporter’s comedy actor roundtable.

During the conversation, the Bad Neighbours star reflected on the time after Freaks and Geeks, which ended in 2000, when he was struggling to find work while his co-star Jason Segel, who was also present at the roundtable, was getting multiple opportunities and offers.

When asked what eventually turned things around for him, he credited "luck" for his achievements.

But he went on to admit that what actually presented as a hard time for him and for his career was his film with co-star James Franco, The Interview.

In the film, Seth and James played journalists who are granted a rare interview with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. However, their mission takes an unexpected turn as the CIA hires them for a totally different assignment.

"I’d say after 'The Interview' came out it was a much harder time in my career because I legitimately thought I had eliminated myself as someone who was viable to work with," he expressed.

The film had sparked international controversy and ignited immense backlash, with North Korea threatening retaliation against U.S, the Sony Pictures cyber attacks that followed was reportedly tied to its release.

"I was very worried that no comedy we made again would seem funny because it had been taken to this extremely serious place. I felt like maybe I’d pushed things further than you can come back from," he further shared.

It was during the filming for 2015’s Steve Jobs that The Studio star finally realised his concerns about his career were unnecessary.

Seth recalled his candid chat with his co-star Kate Winslet, who barely remembered the controversy around the film. This prompted him to reflect, "I was just like, ‘Oh yeah, no one remembers anything.’ In a good way, everyone’s focused on their own s***. And this huge thing, because it didn’t happen to them, two months later they’ve completely forgotten about it."
