Rachel Zegler gets honest about dealing with 'Snow White' backlash

Rachel Zelger has finally opened up about the tactics she developed to cope with the criticism she received after being cast in the adaptation of the 1937 classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
In an interview with the i-D Magazine, the 24-year-old actress revealed that she sought professional help to emotionally deal with the hate that came her way.
"My f****** psychiatrist has seen me through all of it," she shared, adding that she was told, "'What you’re going through isn’t normal.'"
"That sentence did such wonders for me in multiple situations in my life," Zegler mentioned.
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes actress also admitted that she began taking anti-anxiety pills, calling the decision "truly a gamechanger."
"I just wasn’t functioning. And I wanted to function in a way that made me feel confident in the way I was moving through the world," she disclosed.
Zegler noted that while she is aware of her reactions to situations, she refuses to adopt a victim mindset.
"I think a victim mindset is a choice, and I don’t choose it," she said, adding, "I also don’t choose nastiness in the face of it. I don’t choose negativity in the face of it."
The American actress concluded on an optimistic note, emphasising that she chooses "positivity and light and happiness."
