Dermot Mulraney ends marriage of 15 years as actor files for divorce

Dermot Mulraney has filed for divorce from his wife of 15 years, musician Prima Apollinaare.

Court documents for the divorce motion state that the 61-year-old actor is choosing to represent himself in the case, while his reason for dissolving the marriage is listed as “irreconcilable differences”.

PEOPLE further reported that the My Best Friend’s Wedding star has requested that the legal fees for the case be split between the two parties and that he is looking to achieve joint legal custody of the former couple’s two daughters, 17-year-old Mabel Ray and 15-year-old Sally June.

While a source close to the proceedings further told the publication, “No one is asking for anything, and no one is denying anything. They are not arguing over the children nor money.”

Despite the insider’s claim, it has been reported that Mulroney has requested spousal support for himself and has sought to deny similar support to his ex-wife.

Nevertheless, the tipster added, “They used mediators, not lawyers, as they are friends and this is amicable,” as they also shared that the couple was “advised” to go through with the case “this way”.

Dermot Mulraney married Prima Apollinaare in December 2010, two years after they started dating and also welcomed their first daughter.

Boasting a separate career as a professional cellist, Mulroney first bonded with his singer-songwriter wife over their similar passion for music.
