Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet, the French power couple have announced their separation after 18 years together.

On Friday, June 27, the Oscar-winning actress and the actor-director revealed their decision in a joint statement to Agence France-Presse by saying they are parting their ways with mutual respect and goodwill.

The stars also mentioned that they wanted to announced this news by themselves “to avoid speculations, rumors, and interpretations.”

Marion and Guillaume were start dating in 2007 after starring together in the film Love Me If You Dare.

They are the most beloved celebrity couples in France, they never tied the knot though the Tell No One actor had gifted Marion a diamond ring that sparked engagement rumors over the years.

According to the Daily Mail, the former couple later clarified that the ring wasn’t an engagement ring.

However, Marion is a globally recognized French actress known for her standout performances in both French and English-language films.

Her Oscar-winning portrayal of Édith Piaf in La Vie en Rose cemented her international reputation and roles in blockbusters movies like Inception and The Dark Knight further solidified her status as a leading actress.

While Guillaume is known as a talented actor, writer, and director in France.
