The Avengers star Chris Evans and Vassos Alexander get separated after 14 years
Chris Evans could not control his emotions after his long-time co-presenter Vassos Alexander left Virgin Radio and broke down in tears.
“He proudly called me his co-host Schneider, and yes, I was one of the very few people that he allowed to call him Schneider.”
Evans, Like most of his fans, was taken aback to learn that Alexander was leaving the beloved breakfast show after 14 years of lively banter and early morning jokes.
Paying tribute to his radio “brother”, the former BBC presenter wasn’t able to control his waterworks.
The tender and bittersweet farewell indeed moved Evans and made him remember their years of close friendship.
Further on from the heart-warming goodbye, Evans shared, “I genuinely can’t imagine doing the show without you.” “You’ve been the heartbeat of our mornings,” shared the 44-year-old.
Vassos was known to fans of Evans as a long time henchman since the earlier days of BBC Radio 2. He later moved to Virgin Radio.
As soon as he switched to Virgin, he started to refer to his fans as ‘my co-hosts’ in an effort to indicate he was thankful for the “ride of a lifetime”. Vassos explained that while it was harder than people would imagine, he did find closed door opportunities in the future comment.
The real life embrace of the schtick duo was unusual for listeners and viewers alike and fully received responses calling it “The end of the era.” The two embraced, signifying a bond far beyond their onscreen repartee.
