Amber Heard has returned to acting for the first time in two years, while also making her public debut two months after welcoming twins, Agnes and Ocean.

In her first major career role since 2023’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the 39-year-old actress is currently appearing in her Broadway debut, Spirit of the People.

The play is directed by Tony-nominated playwright and actor Jeremy O. Harris, and premiered at the Williamstown Theatre Festival on July 17.

Via Instagram, the former DC alum also shared a story from backstage at the play, thanking her “beautiful fans” for “an amazing show of support.”

“I’m humbled by the hundreds of website messages and flowers,” she concluded her story’s caption.

While the show’s writer, Jeremy praised the actors currently participating in the ongoing theatre festival, including Amber, as he told Vogue, “So many new theatre artists, Katina (Medina Mora), Nicholas (Alexander Chavez), Whitney (Peak), Amber (Heard), and many more have thrown themselves headfirst into this world. I’m in awe of each of the people assembled this summer.”

Earlier this year, the L’Oréal ambassador shared the news of her twins’ birth via Instagram, writing, “Today I officially share the news that I welcomed twins into the Heard gang.”

Amber Heard will appear in Spirit of the People, written by Jeremy O. Harris and directed by Katina Medina Mora, till August 3, 2025.
