Inside Queen Camilla's feud with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle

Despite the circulating rumour and media hysteria centered on the royals, the dukes and duchesses of Cambridge and Sussex, the grapples of the palace are set on the other direction. It is supposedly the conflict that exists between the new Queen and the Sussexes that fuels the British gossips and gossipers.

The delicate balance of the family's anger and Camilla's anger towards the Sussexes is what adds the underlying spark to these parties that are fighting to settle the chapters of their internal conflicts between one another. Each mesmerizing angle is what grabs the attention of British tabloids.

The Root of the Rift

Camilla didn’t earn points on Princess Diana’s side of the family for the behavior the press exhibited during Angry Di’s life, and according to insiders, Harry places a share of the blame on her for the press machine that tortured his mother.

He has spoken rather openly about his criticism for Camilla, stating that she is the “villain” of the story and having the mother figure of a doll is very much a consequence of her “self-serving” plot where she leaks selective information to create a perception of herself.

That narrative, incomprehensibly, doesn’t seem to correlate with the version that Camilla has. She has upgraded her personality and went to image therapy to “fix herself” which does seem to work. She wasn’t Di’s mother at any point. She was a child of Di and grew into a mother that did emotionally dominated shenaningans with her child.

The Meghan Factor

The Meghan-Camilla relationship has been reported as cool from the start. Meghan’s activism and philanthropic work was “Hollywood-esque” to “Too Much, Too Soon” to Camilla. Meghan, for her part, allegedly felt sidelined and unsupported by her new royal in-law.

“I've said it before and i'll say it again, Camilla royalty felt Meghan princess didn’t give the institution the respect it needed. On the other hand Meghan felt Camila royalty did her wrong by not respecting her and giving her a chance” former royal aids said.

Royal Icing

Following Harry and Meghan’s Oprah interview, the Meghan/Camilla relationship appeared to worsen. Camilla, for her part, has been sealed with “appalled” at the couple for making the family “royale” drama so public.

Since then, Camilla seems to be distant, including during important royal family occasions such as the coronation of King Charles the third. During the event, it was observed and reported to the media that the mere seating arrangements and the “hip looks” exchanged was in essence screaming sneak peeks of the palace drama.

No Turning Back?

With Meghan and Harry still forging their own path in Montecito, and with Camilla firmly established as the Queen, it does not seem like there is any possibility of reconciling. A palace insider recently stated: “The damage is done. Camilla has no interest in mending fences with Harry — especially not after what he’s said about her.”

As the monarchy adjusts to the rule of Charles III, it is evident that the wounds within the familial organization remain raw, and the feud that Meghan and Harry have with Camilla may be the most quietly dramatic of them all.
