Some of the biggest names in Hollywood are also the ones making the most money at the global box office as these highest-grossing actors have starred in blockbuster movies that people love watching worldwide.
Actors like Dwayne Johnson and Tom Cruise have been part of super successful films that have raked in billions of dollars globally and their movies often break records and get huge audiences.
Dwyane (The Rock) Johnson
Dwayne Johnson started his Hollywood career in the early 2000s after being a big deal in pro wrestling with WWE.
The American actor’s movies started doing well but things took off big time when he joined the Fast and Furious movies with Fast Five in 2011.
The Black Adam star’s movies like Furious 7 in 2015 and The Fate of the Furious in 2017, each made over $1 billion worldwide. He has also had big hits with movies like Moana and the Jumanji series.
Vin Diesel
As the star in all 10 movies in the Fast franchise, Vin Diesel is a major part of its over $7 billion take.
The Pacifier actor scored big as the voice of Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise
Chris Hemsworth
Chris Hemsworth is the star of the Thor movies and those movies have made almost $3 billion worldwide.
The Extraction star has also been in the Avengers movies which made close to $8 billion.
Tom Cruise
Tom Cruise is considered one of the last true movie stars. The American actor was already a big hit on the box office way before most other actors on similar lists had even started careers.
The Vanilla Sky actor is doing great as the latest Mission: Impossible movie, The Final Reckoning, is doing well in theaters and made half a billion dollars worldwide.
That adds to the total for the Mission: Impossible series which has made close to $5 billion with its eight movies.
People are also talking about a third Top Gun movie after the franchise came back big time in 2020 with Top Gun: Maverick, raking in $1.4 billion.
Chris Pratt
Who would have thought that the funny guy from Parks and Recreation would become a big hit in movies?
Chris Pratt played Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy movies and portrayed the Lego character in The Lego Movie.
The Passengers actor also starred in the Jurassic World movies and Mario in The Super Mario Bros. Movies.
