Here are 15 Celebrity exes who nailed the art of co-parenting

Breakups may end romantic relationships, but when kids are involved, many celebrities prove that co-parenting can lead to healthier, supportive family dynamics.
From Ben Affleck to Megan Fox, here’s how famous exes are making co-parenting work:
1. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner:

Ben Affleck has nothing but admiration for his ex Jennifer Garner, with whom he share kids Violet, Seraphina and Samuel.
“Jen is a superhero mom,” he told E! News. “She’s an amazing mother, and I'm really lucky to have her as a partner to co-parent these kids with. We try our best, we put them first and that's what we do.”
Jennifer Lopez, who later married Affleck , also praised Garner as “an amazing co-parent.”
2. Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green:

Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green are parents to children, Noah, Bodhi and their Journey have plenty of co-parenting experience.
For Austin, the rule is simple, put the kids first. “The number one [rule],” he told E! News in April 2024, “is always make sure that everything is centred around the experience of the kids”
He continued explaining that breakup must not effect the children, “because you didn't get along. So, you can't expect to then get along after the fact in raising your kids. So, you have to decide, ‘OK, it's not about us getting along anymore. It's about us co-parenting, which is a totally different situation.”
Megan Fox share her sentiment on The Drew Barrymore Show in 2023, “I don't let anything in my energy like that when I'm around my kids. Because if I don't accept and love their father, I'm rejecting a part of them because he's a part of who they are always. He's in their blood, and he's in their psyche, and they exist because of him.”
3. Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin:

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin who coined “conscious uncoupling” when they announced their split in 2014 decided to put kids Apple and Moses their first priority.
In an interview with The Drew Barrymore Show Paltrow said, “Chris and I committed to putting them first, and that’s harder than it looks."
She further added, “Because some days, you really don't want to be with the person that you’re getting divorced from. But if you're committed to having family dinner, then you do it. And you take a deep breath, and you look the person in the eye, and you remember your pact, and you smile, and you hug, and you make a joke, and you just recommit to this new relationship that you're trying to foster.”
Shakespeare in Love star concluded, saying, “Some days it's not as good as it looks. We also have good days and bad days. But I think it's driving towards the same purpose of unity and love and really what's best for them. We have this idea that just because we break up we can't love the things about the person anymore that we loved and that's not true.”
4. Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik:

Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid maintain a united front for daughter Khai after their split in 2021.
“Co-parenting is good,” Malik told Call Her Daddy. “We have a really good relationship for Khai. She’s the main importance.”
Hadid added in The Sunday Times, “And the fact that Khai “can be with both parents makes me very happy.”
5. Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr:

Miranda Kerr says her co-parenting dynamic with Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry, and Evan Spiegel is rooted in respect.
“For Flynn to have a happy father and a happy mother, it’s just the most important thing,” she said on The Drew Barrymore Show.
“When it comes to special occasions when we have to be together, we work it out.
Kerr continued, “So we have compromises that we work out together for what is the best for our whole family? But we really do always think of what is the best thing for Flynn? And I just think that that’s the most important thing at the end of the day.”
6. Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick:

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick got separated in 2015 but the two continued to co-parent their three kids, Mason Dash Disick, Penelope Scotland Disick and Reign Aston Disick.
On Poosh Kardashian shared that, "the constant in our lives has always been our three beautiful kids."
Disick said of their settlement, "Just because we are not together, doesn't mean our kids should suffer. I couldn't imagine raising three children with someone I didn't speak to everyday."
7. Irina Shayk and Bradley Cooper:

Irina Shayk and Bradley Cooper may have split in 2019, but the two remain strong as parents when it comes to their daughter Lea.
“I never understood the term co-parenting,” Shayk told ELLE. “When I’m with my daughter, I’m 100 percent a mother, and when she’s with her dad, he’s 100 percent her dad. Co-parenting is parenting.”
Calling Cooper “the best father Lea and I could dream of,” she emphasized, “It always works because we make it work.”
8. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon:

Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey, who share twins Moroccan and Monroe, have found a good conclusion as they decided to co-parent their childern.
“Mariah and I co-parent very well,” Cannon said on The Language of Love. “We’re really great friends. She’s taught me so much. That’s family.”
Carey agreed, telling People, “I think Nick and I have done pretty well in co-parenting, staying friends with each other so that we can talk.”
9. Josh Duhamel and Fergie:

Josh Duhamel praised his ex-wife Fergie for embracing his new wife Audra Mari.
“Fergie is an amazing woman. She really is,” he shared on The Jess Cagle Show in 2023. “She’s taken Audra in. And it could be much worse…thankfully, we have a really civil situation.”
Even after his remarriage and another baby, Duhamel said Fergie has shown nothing but kindness and excitement.
