Celebrities despite their glamour lives are not immune to allergies. In fact many famous individuals have shared their struggles with unusual allergies making them relatable to their fans.

From shellfish and peanuts to perfume and grass these allergies can be quite unexpected.

Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande had to reschedule two Florida shows while on tour due to a mysterious illness that turned out to be a rare allergy.

She later revealed that the cause was an unexpected reaction to tomatoes. This sudden allergy forced her to postpone the shows and take time to recover and the pop icon took to her Instagram to share the news with her fans, writing, “I had an unfortunate allergic reaction to tomatoes and my throat pretty much closed. Still feels like I am swallowing a cactus but slowly making progress.”

Ariana continued, “p.s. there is nothing more unfair than an Italian woman developing an allergy to tomatoes in her mid-twenties."

Kerry Washing

According to eonline.com, Kerry Washington has severe food allergies that require her to carry an EpiPen with her all times.

The Shadow actress opened up about her allergy, saying, “Most people do not know about this but I carry and EpiPen with me almost everywhere I go because I have a lot of food allergies, like fatal food allergies, that if I eat these things, I could wind up dying in an emergency room somewhere.”

Kerry added, “So I always have an EpiPen. It’s not sexy, but I am being honest, I have an EpiPen in my bag.”

Beyoncé

Beyoncé endorses many fragrances, but ironically the singer is allergic to certain scents.

To avoid reactions as she only promotes fragrances that have been chemically altered to be hypoallergenic.

Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber discovered in 2019 that he has a gluten intolerance which forced him to ditch his favourite Corona beer.

The Baby crooner shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo of gluten-free beer from Omission Brewing, he captioned the post, “Worst news ever, I am officially allergic to gluten. No more Coronas unless they make gluten-free beer like this.”

Sin then, the Grammy winner has switched to gluten-free beers, finding Omission Brewing’s offerings to his taste.

Mark Wahlberg

Mark Wahlberg discovered he is allergic to almost everything after taking an allergy scratch test.

The test involves applying various allergens to the skin to determine what’s causing reactions.

Mark shared a photo on Instagram, joking, “It only took 49 years to realize I am allergic to almost everything.”
