‘The Witcher’ season 4 introduces Liam Hemsworth’s Geralt: Key takeaways from new footage
Liam Hemsworth finally replaces Henry Cavill in new teaser for ‘The Witcher’ season 4

Netflix’s popular fantasy drama The Witcher is ready to spring back into action — confirmed by the show’s newly released teaser.
Liam Hemsworth makes his debut as Geralt in the fourth season’s debut footage, taking over the protagonist duties from Henry Cavill in what proved to be a divisive decision initially.
Cavill being a fan favourite made for an upsetting departure when his exit was announced in October 2022.
However, as his replacement, Hemsworth was incredibly respectful about his predecessor and shared as much in a previous statement.
“Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I’m honoured that he’s handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure. Henry, I’ve been a fan of yours for years and was inspired by what you brought to this beloved character. I may have some big boots to fill, but I’m truly excited to be stepping into ‘The Witcher’ world,” he acknowledged in 2022.
Without further ado, here’s the latest look and what you need to know about The Witcher season 4:
Teaser description
To understand what you have just seen, Netflix’s own guide to the teaser outlines exactly who the mysterious entity in the newly released footage is.
Per Netflix Tudum, “In the scene, Geralt (Hemsworth) faces a wraith — a ghostly, vengeful spirit. Geralt’s sword proves useless against the spectral foe, so he uses his Witcher Signs: first Aard (to blast it back), then Yrden (to trap it in a magical cage). With the wraith immobilized, Geralt reaches into its chest and crushes the dark, glowing mass at its core, causing the wraith to dissipate into black dust.”
Release
The upcoming season’s teaser has confirmed that the show will arrive on Netflix, October 30.
“This is the beginning of a two-season journey for our family to finally reunite and be together — hopefully forever,” executive producer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich revealed.
Episodes
The Witcher’s fourth season is not changing the episode order from its last three editions and will consist of eight episodes, per usual.

Joining Liam Hemsworth on the fantastical adventure are returning cast members Anya Chalotra (Yennefer of Vengerberg), Freya Allan (Princess Cirilla of Cintra), Joey Batey (Jaskier).
While Laurence Fishburne is making his series debut as Regis, a fan favourite barber-surgeon character from The Witcher book series.
