'Adolescence' Shines at Emmys as 'The Studio' sets new records
Let’s take a look at how drama, comedy, and history collide in a night of unforgettable wins at the 2025 Emmys.

At the 2025 Emmy Awards, two shows stood out above the rest, Adolescence and The Studio, the both shows made history and were big winners.
Adolescence, a Netflix drama dominated the limited series category and it won six awards in total. Those included honours for best limited series, plus awards for writing and directing.
The show also picked up three acting awards. One of these was awarded to 15-year-old Owen Cooper, who became the youngest person ever to win supporting actor in a limited series. In his acceptance speech, Owen described the moment as “just so surreal.” Erin Doherty also won supporting actress in a limited series for Adolescence.
Meanwhile, The Studio, a satire series on Apple TV+ that makes fun of a fictional Hollywood studio, set records. In its first season, The Studio became the most awarded comedy ever in a single Emmy year.
Including Creative Arts Emmys, it collected 13 trophies more than any comedy’s first season before. It was also named Best Comedy Series.
Seth Rogen, one of the stars, won for acting, writing, and directing in a comedy series and he joked on stage, “I’m legitimately embarrassed by how happy this makes me.”
Elsewhere, The Pitt, a medical drama, also had a strong night. It won three awards, including Best Drama Series and acting awards.
Noah Wyle received his first-ever Emmy after many previous nominations. He dedicated his win to hospital workers. Co-star Katherine LaNasa surprised many by winning Best Supporting Actress in a Drama.
Jean Smart won Best Comedy Actress for Hacks again, her fourth time. She ended her speech with, “Be good to each other, let’s just be good to each other," and Hannah Einbinder, her co-star won her first Emmy for Supporting Actress in a Comedy.
Additionally, Adolescence showed emotion, power and youth while The Studio broke records and proved comedy can be a game-changer. Together, they helped make Emmy 2025 a night full of surprises and milestones.
