Sabrina Carpenter has been announced among the lineup of stars who are set to host the upcoming season of Saturday Night Live.

However, the pop star will be tasked with double the amount of work compared to other hosts — she will also headline as the musical guest for her own episode, which will be out October 18.

Here are more stars who are familiar with the vibe:

Paul Simon (1975)

The legendary artist and one half of the musical duo Simon & Garfunkel, Paul Simon holds the distinction of being the first SNL host to double as musical guest during the same night, when he took the stage for the sketch show’s second ever episode and was the co-musical guest alongside Randy Newman and Phoebe Snow. He came to repeat his double duty three more times: in 1976, 1986, and 1987.

Dolly Parton (1989)

The country icon Dolly Parton doubled as host and musical guest during season 14 of SNL, when she came on the programme to promote her role in 1989’s Steel Magnolias.

Jennifer Lopez (2001)

J-Lo pulled double duty during season 26 of the New York based series — a feat she got to repeat in 2010 as well.

Janet Jackson (2004)

Janet Jackson returned to live television after her infamous Super Bowl Halftime Show wardrobe malfunction, performing music along with hosting duties after initially appearing as a musical guest only in 1994.

Taylor Swift (2009)

The queen of Swifties pulled SNL double duty fairly early in her career, and even sang through her opening monologue — “I like writing songs about douchebags who cheat on me, but I’m not gonna say that in my monologue/I like writing their names into songs so that they’re ashamed to go in public, but I’m not gonna say that in my monologue”, went part of her tune.

Bruno Mars (2012)

Bruno Mars appeared on SNL and performed his then latest singles Locked Out of Heaven and Young Girls, following some stellar comedy sketch work.

Harry Styles (2019)

While Harry Styles had made a few appearances on SNL before, including those with One Direction, he returned to the show as a solo artist and performed a double gig during its season 45.

Dua Lipa (2024)

One of the more recent stars to do so, Dua Lipa impressed upon her SNL hosting debut by also doubling as the episode’s musical guest.
