Elon Musk calls for Netflix boycott over controversial content in kids’ shows
Netflix has not released an official statement on Musk’s call for a boycott

Elon Musk has urged his followers to cancel their Netflix subscriptions, accusing the streaming giant of promoting what he described as a “trans agenda” in children’s programming.
The controversy began after Libs of TikTok flagged the animated series "Dead End: Paranormal Park," which features a gay and a trans lead character, claiming it was targeted at seven-year-olds.
Musk responded on his social platform X (formerly Twitter), writing “this is not ok,” before sharing a meme that portrayed Netflix as a Trojan horse pushing a trans narrative.
He went on to encourage parents to cancel their accounts, framing it as a step to protect children’s well-being.
Although the show aired two seasons in 2022 before being cancelled in 2023, Musk’s criticism reignited debate online.
Several conservative users began circulating lists of Netflix titles with LGBTQ+ storylines, which Musk endorsed by replying “true.”
Notably, the creator of Dead End: Paranormal Park, Hamish Steele, addressed the backlash on Bluesky, saying he was “mostly fine” but acknowledged receiving waves of homophobic and antisemitic messages.
He added that the harassment made him consider stepping away from social media, while also thanking supporters who had reached out.
As of now, Netflix has not released an official statement on Musk’s call for a boycott or the renewed controversy surrounding representation in its children’s shows, leaving the debate unresolved.
