J.Lo's strict new rules bothers Ben Affleck
Jennifer Lopez has adopted a no-nonsense attitude in relation to Kiss of the Spider Woman in wide release, and she is ditching Ben Affleck with expectations, boundaries, and her priorities.
Even though the divorce was final in January 2025, promotional interviews indicate Lopez hasn’t been avoiding candor.
On Today Show appearance, she interrupted Craig Melvin mid-question while he was talking about her divorce from Affleck – "There you go!" was her answer, followed with a playful, "Look at this guy." This helped show her willingness to answer to questions of a more personal nature while maintaining a professional front.
Lopez has commented about the fact that Affleck is still nominally a part of her film world, as he’s executive producing Kiss of the Spider Woman through his Artists Equity company, but she is the one in control of her creative vision.
In a recent interview, she noted, “If it wasn’t for Ben … and Artist Equity, this movie wouldn’t have been made."
Yet, even this acknowledgement was made with a sense of authority – the role was one she insisted on, the project she “was born to play,” and she pushed through even when she was in a difficult place personally.
As for what’s next? Jennifer Lopez is giving hard reality check to Ben Affleck with her career and personal moves.
