True love or PR stunts: Hollywood's biggest secret finally exposed
When love turns into public stunt

In a celebrity-focused society, Hollywood romances can be deceiving. Numerous insiders and entertainment analysts consider "PR relationships", the relationships constructed around publicity rather than genuine affection.
As described in the Hollywood Reporter, the publicity couple’s phenomenon extends beyond the Hustle and Fame. According to Tinseltown sources, the creation of social buzz, promotion of various celebrity collaborations, and the re branding of various stars within the collaborations becomes the goal of strategic integration of social media characterized by studio managers and celebrity relationships within the collaborations.
"Modern celebrity culture thrives on attention," a PR strategist claimed to Variety. "When two big names start dating, their public value doubles — even if there's no love at all."
This is not a novel phenomenon. Think of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, or the Taylor Swift relationships. However, social media has changed the game. A promotional relationship is not just a marketing strategy, acquiring a relationship selfie can generate millions of engagements and headlines for days as powerful as a movie trailer "rollout."
As reported by Page Six, some publicists coordinate to a fine detail these so-called relationships, including when a couple will make joint public appearances and when a breakup will occur so that there is maximum attention. While the audience is deeply engrossed and attempting to puzzle out the intricacies, the brands and studios who are taking the profits are the real winners.
Nevertheless, not every romance in Hollywood’s glittering world is a pretend affair. Real love does occur.
Yet in a focused world of shifts, love strategies, and misguided romance, it becomes increasingly tricky to figure out where real feelings stop, and joint strategy dictates movement. In today's Hollywood, romance is likely about keeping a couple in the public’s eye, not for love.
