Apple to honor co-founder Steve Jobs, will appear on $1 coin
US Mint has unveiled design of a new $1 coin honoring late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs

The US Mint has unveiled the design of a new $1 coin honoring the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, recognising his lasting impact on technology and innovation.
The coin portrays a young Jobs sitting cross-legged against the backdrop of California’s rolling hills, dressed in his signature turtleneck.
Etched beside him is the phrase “Make something wonderful,” a 2007 quote that has come to symbolise Jobs’ creative philosophy and enduring legacy.
Part of the American Innovation series, the coin will be available for purchase through the US Mint’s website for $13.25. However, collectors will have to wait until 2026 for its release.
For those unversed, the ongoing programme, launched in 2018, honors groundbreaking achievements and innovators from each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and US territories.
California selected Jobs earlier this year, with Governor Gavin Newsom noting that he “encapsulates the unique brand of innovation that California runs on.”
Even nearly 14 years after his passing, Jobs remains a symbol of creativity, vision, and relentless innovation, qualities that continue to define US’ tech leadership today.
Other 2026 honorees include Wisconsin’s Cray-1 supercomputer, a groundbreaking invention from the 1970s that transformed high-performance computing.
